Short Bio: I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, but grew up at Amyntaio at the mountainous northwest part of Greece (western Macedonia). I moved back to Thessaloniki during high school and undergrad years and then left for the US for graduate studies and work (lived in Boston, Seattle, San Jose and Ann Arbor). I got my PhD from the University of Michigan, under the tutelage of prof. H.V. Jagadish and currently I work for Microsoft Research in sunny Silicon Valley for Rakesh Agrawal.
